On Aug. 5, people can enjoy free samples from the many fine restaurants in the city during A Taste of Mentor.
On Aug. 12, the green thumbs will invade for a celebration of local gardens and landscaping during Garden Club Night.
Finally, on Aug. 19, visitors can learn more about Mentor and Ohio in the Civil War at Mentor and the Civil War Night. The event coincides with the park's celebration of the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Civil War.
The Market Days are all free to attend. Visitors can check out the market and tour the park's grounds, including President James Garfield's home, for free.
“The market is a reminder of President Garfield’s upbringing and interest in agriculture and it reminds us that this property and the entire region have a long farming tradition," said Sherda Williams, the park's superintendent. "We invite everyone to visit the market, enjoy local produce and products, and take in Garfield history.”
