It's Better In Mentor, Canine Frisbee & Square Dance Lessons: Kids Planner

Here's a corn maze, a Mentor celebration, a marsh clean-up, Frisbee-catching dogs and square dancing — pick and choose from this week's array of events

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

3-ACRE CORN MAZE

Where/When: Lake Metroparks Farmpark through Oct. 9, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Twists and turns, trivia questions and character cutouts are all part of this fun fall event.

Pricing: $6 for those ages 12 to 59; $5 for those over 60; $4 for kids ages 2 to 11. Those younger than 2 and Farmpark members are free.

IT’S BETTER IN MENTOR DAYS FESTIVAL

Where/When: Various locations, but centered at , Friday through Sunday.

Why Go: A parade, a 5K run and 2-mile walk, a pancake breakfast, entertainment, rides and so much more.

Pricing: Free

MENTOR MARSH CLEANUP

Where/When: , 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Why Go: The whole family can get dirty and help pick up litter along trails, creeks and areas around the Marsh. Snacks and water will be provided.

Pricing: Free

SKYHOUNDZ CANINE FRISBEE CONTEST

Where/When: , Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Watch as area pooches attempt to catch flying Frisbees. Judging is based on distance and how many paws are off the ground at the time of the catch.

SQUARE DANCE LESSON

Where/When: Kirtland Middle School Gymnasium, 7 p.m. Monday.

Why Go: Anyone from age 10 to 80 can attend this introductory square dance lesson.
