Howl-O-Ween Rescheduled For This Thursday

Pups and their owners can compete in costume contests this Thursday at Mentor Dog Park

A bit of nasty weather forced organizers to for this week but dogs will still have their chance to dress in silly and spooky costumes.

The costumed pups can gather for the fifth annual Howl-O-Ween from 5:30 to 7 p.m. this Thursday at Mentor Dog Park.

Pets and owners can compete in a costume contest with categories like Face Only a Mother Could Love, Dog & Owner Lookalike and Best Costume.

The winners will get a treat bag with doggy toys, coupons for Mentor Recreation classes and more goodies.

Of course, the dogs will also be able to play at the dog park's fenced agility courses or go for a walk.

The Mentor Recreation Department, who organizes Howl-O-Ween each year, will have more treats for sale for both pooches and their patrons.

The owners can also meet with local pet-friendly vendors, as well as the Friends of Mentor Dog Park.

A few rules apply: dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations, licensed and not be in heat to come play.

Howl-O-Ween is a free event. Call Mentor Recreation at 440-974-5720 for more information.
