FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: Jerome T. Osborne Sr. Stadium at , 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.

Why Go: Hear the United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, the Silent Drill Platoon and the Marine Corps Color Guard. There’s also a U.S. Marine Corps military equipment and recruiting display from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION

Where/When: Little Italy (along Mayfield Road in Cleveland), starts Friday at 6 p.m. and goes through Monday.

Why Go: Rides, live music, food and a parade (did I mention the food?).

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Take a look at the trains while you nibble on a frozen treat.

Pricing: Free for kids under age 12, additional cups for $1.

SUPER STAR PARTY

Where/When: Penitentiary Glen Reservation in Kirtland, 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday.

Why Go: This program for kids ages 8 and up and adults celebrates space (this year’s focus is the moon) with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Watch the Perseid Meteor Shower while you’re at it.

Pricing: $4 a person

Where/When: bike path, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 16.

Why Go: Put your chalk skills to the test at this free art contest. The theme is “Get out and Play” (chalk is provided).
