Where/When: Kiwanis Recreation Park, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Why Go: This youth fishing derby is for kids 15 and under. Sponsored by the Northeast Ohio Walleye Assn.

Where/When: YMCA Outdoor Family Center, Perry, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Community open house features free swimming and representatives from area libraries, fire, police and sheriff departments.

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Kids ages 7 to 10 (with adult) learn all about the sun and why it’s important to life on earth. Make a sundial to take home and enjoy a cup of sun tea.

Why Go: Kids ages 3 through 5 (and their younger siblings) can attend this program, which features songs from around the world and explores different cultures of the songs’ origin. Registration is required.
