FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
Where/When: Comics and Friends at Great Lakes Mall, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: In addition to free comics, there will be an in-store appearance by Craig Boldman, who has written more than 100 consecutive issues of Jughead for Archie Comics Publications, among other comics endeavors.

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Kids can get their fill of creepy-crawlies with a hike into the woods to explore the forest floor. This event is geared toward kids ages 8 through 12 and their families.
Pricing: $5 per child for members; $8 per child, nonmembers.
Where/When: The grounds of the East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, Kirtland, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Expose the kids to folk and acoustic music at this festival, which also includes family crafts, a playground, storytelling for the younger set , food and arts and crafts.
Pricing: Adults $5 online presale, $8 at the door; $6 for 65 and older; children 12 and under are free.
Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: The whole family will love a trip to the zoo, which will spotlight resident animal moms, their youngsters and some unique parenting behaviors. It’s also opening weekend for the new elephant habitat.
Pricing: Free for moms. $11 for 12 and older, $8 children 2-11, children under 2 are free.

Why Go: Everyone in the family, no matter how old they are, can be a star during Family Karaoke Night.
Pricing: Buy $7 or more on products at Seekers, and it’s free. Or buy a singing pass for $2 for those 12 and older, and $1 for those 11 or younger.
