Why Go: A wealth of activities to celebrate Arbor Day: storytelling, guided tours, children’s tree climbing demonstrations, children’s crafts and activities, a visit from Johnny Appleseed, food and more.
Pricing: Free admission all weekend (plus you get a free tree seedling, while supplies last).
• 2011 CLEVELAND NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR
Where/When: Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center, Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: 188 colleges and universities — from Alfred University to Youngstown State — will be at the fair, taking some of the work out of your college search.
Pricing: Free, but preregister so you don’t have to fill out information cards onsite.

Why Go: Learn more about America’s national bird by helping build a mock eagle nest and taking a guided hike to a real nest (at 2 p.m.). Dress for the elements — with all the rain lately, it’s sure to be a muddy trek.

• INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL
Where/When: Starts Monday at Playhouse Square in Cleveland through May 7.
Why Go: This festival features live performances from around the world, a stage featuring local artists, activities, workshops and more.
Pricing: Tickets for the shows are 2 for $20 or $14 for one ticket; workshops and activities are free.
