Get Out: Red, White and Rose

Enjoy wine tastings and rib cookoffs this Memorial Day weekend

Where/When: The Cabin in Willowick, 7 p.m. Thursday.

Why Go: The dinner features a four-course dinner paired with wines from Debonne Vineyards, plus guest speaker Joel Sandrey.

Where/When: Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica, downtown Cleveland, Friday through Monday.

Why Go: It’s meat heaven: saucy slabs, a grilling contest, Man vs. Food rib-eating challenge and the Greatest Ribs in America contest. Don’t forget the music — national, regional and local bands will perform throughout the weekend.

Pricing: $8 before 3 p.m., $5 after 3 p.m. with discount coupon from Marc’s or the event website. Kids 12 and under are free all day.

3. LANTERN COURT GARDEN TOURS

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Tour the formal English borders and naturalized plantings along the wooded ravines, rock gardens and perennial beds.

Pricing: $3 for members, $8 for nonmembers. Includes admission to Holden.

Why Go: It’s a special Memorial Day themed tasting: Red, White and Rose.

Pricing: $5

5. MEMORIAL DAY INVITATIONAL

Where/When: Lake County Speedway, 6 p.m. Monday.

Why Go: Hear the engines roar at the Memorial Day Invitational. There’s racing on Saturday night, too, if you can’t wait.

Pricing: $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12 and senior citizens. Kids under 5 are free.
