Get Out: Nature's Gifts, Classical and Celtic Christmas Music

The gift of music will put you and your family in the holiday spirit

1. 

Where/When: Mentor Public Library Main Branch, 8125 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, 7 p.m. Thursday.

Why Go: Take the whole family to enjoy a holiday concert featuring a string quartet from the renowned Cleveland Institute of Art. The repertoire includes holiday music highlighting pop and classical movements. Refreshments will be served.

Where/When: Wildwood Cultural Center, 7645 Little Mountain Road, Mentor, 6 p.m. to 9  p.m. Friday.

Why Go: Kids age 5 through 10 can attend this program to make a gift for parents, eat pizza and watch a movie.

Pricing: $20 for Mentor residents.

Where/When: Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, 5 p.m to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: A musical about how a group of children discovers the true meaning of Christmas. Potluck dinner will follow performance.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, 9500 Sperry Road, Kirtland, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Saturday and Sunday.

Why Go: Gifts from the Heart of Nature promotes regional artists with nature inspired works and crafts made from environmentally responsible materials.

Pricing: Free for members. Non-members pay gate admission.

Where/When: St. Noel’s Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, 4 p.m. Sunday..

Why Go: Apollo’s Fire will present Sacred Mystery-A-Celtic Christmas, which interweaves renaissance choral music with ancient pagan carols, folk dances and fiddles, flutes and bagpipes.
