Get Out: Marathons, 'The Music Man' & Free Manicures

Why Go: In celebration of the new reality TV series Nail Files, TV Guide Network is sending a mobile spa around the country to give free manicures.

3. WOOF! WAG! & WINE!

Where/When: Grand River Cellars in Madison, noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Take your dog on a walk through the vineyards, then enjoy a wine tasting and live entertainment, auctions and more. The event benefits the Lake Humane Society.

Pricing: $10 per person, and food and wine will be available for purchase.

4. PASSPORT 2 PLANTS

Where/When: Grounds Middle Ridge Gardens in Madison, Sabo’s Woodside Nursery in Madison, Martin’s Nursery & Garden Center in Perry and Gilson Gardens in Perry, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Share the joy of gardening with local chefs preparing samples with herbs, vegetables and edibles. Enter individual raffles and win prizes at each location, and one grand prize will be awarded.

5. LAKE HEALTH THIRD DISTANCE CLASSIC

Where/When: Gristmill Plaza, Concord, 8 a.m. Sunday.

Why Go: The half marathon and 5K run/walk wend their way along Lake Metroparks bike paths and a challenging 4-mile stretch of road.

Pricing: $35 for the half marathon, $18 for the 5K.
