Get Out: Cinco De Mayo, Comic Book Movies & the Wildwood Singers

People can go to a fiesta, assess the artistic aspects of comic films and listen to the musical stylings of the Wildwood Singers

2. COMICS SYMPOSIUM FILM FESTIVAL

Where/When: Lakeland Community College, Thursday through Saturday, various times.

Why Go: All six films shown will feature an industry or academic expert preview of the film and then a critical and analytical discussion of the film’s visual art and literary aspects afterward.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Great Lakes Mall, Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy freebies from local vendors, sushi from Fuji Japan Steakhouse and a vendor trade show. Numerous brands will offer discounts to moms in attendance.

4. NATIONAL PUBLIC GARDENS DAY

Where/When: Holden Arboretum, Kirtland, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

Why Go: Enjoy some of Ohio’s most beautiful gardens — it’s Holden’s treat!

Why Go: Hear the Wildwood Singers perform a number of musical styles, including Broadway, popular hits, jazz, rock, classical, folk and country. There will be refreshments, too.
