Why Go: Today’s the day to celebrate being Irish (even if you really aren’t!). Visit the Hooley House for live music, kegs and eggs and more. But that’s not the only place to celebrate: Harry Buffalo in Painesville, Mullarkey’s in Willoughby, and Debonne Vineyards and Grand River Cellars are other places with special events today.

Where/When: Penitentiary Glen Reservation, Kirtland, starts at noon Saturday.
Why Go: The opening reception for a one-man show featuring paintings of Lake Metroparks by local artist James Polewchak. Light refreshments will be served. The show is open through May 15.

3. RAILFEST
Where/When: Lakeland Community College, Kirtland, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Why Go: This model railroad show and flea market is billed as the largest two-day train show in Ohio.
Pricing: $7 for adults, $12 for two-day passes, $12 family.
Where/When: Holden Arboretum, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy sustainable Ohio maple syrup. Take a hike while you’re at it and work up an appetite or burn off some calories.
Pricing: Members: $10 adults, $6 ages 4-10, under age 3 free. Nonmembers: $15 adults, $10 ages 4-10, under age 3 free.
Where/When: East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, Kirtland, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Why Go: Long Road plays songs from all eras but in a ’60s folk style, with humor and history between the songs. Six members, a combined total of more than 200 years of professional music experience and 18 instruments.
Pricing: $15 general, $10 students and seniors.
