Deepwood Special Olympians Continue To Perform Swimmingly

The fifteen swimmers on the team earned a whole lot of metal at the state aquatic meet earlier this month.

The team earned eight gold, five silver and nine bronze medals, as well as three fourth- and two fifth-place medals.

They competed in freestyle and backstroke competitions.

Deepwood's Special Olympians also made it to the .

The released a statement, saying it was very proud of all of its athletes.

"All the Special Olympiads are winners because they share a common mission to demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in
sharing of gifts, skills and friendship," the statement said.
