Brandon's PROMise is an annual prom show to celebrate an honor the life of , a Mentor High student who lost his life too early. All proceeds to benefit the Brandon A. Shima Anti-Bullying Foundation.

The cheerleaders, dance team and American Commodore Dancers will be performing. All models are students at Mentor High.

Why Go: Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday by building a truffula tree, playing pin-the-mustache-on-the-Lorax, eating birthday cake and reading some Seuss-pendous books.

Why Go: See if you're a big winner during the Super Raffle drawing at the Mentor mall. If you're there and win, .

The local chapter of the United Way is also kicking off its annual at the mall Friday.

Why Go: Look for signs of wildlife such as tracks and nests that show the animals that use the preserve as a vital habitat over the winter. Identification guides will be available.

Why Go: Lenten season means fish on Fridays. Enjoy Lake Erie perch, cole slaw, fries and more.
