Beautification Committee Recognizes Mentor's Best Gardens

Four homeowners and one business were honored during the City Council meeting

The Beautification Committee recognized the best gardens in Mentor during the City Council meeting Tuesday at .

Chairman Linda Brown recognized a gardener from each of the city's four wards, as well as one business.

Each of the winners received a plaque for their hard work beautifying their corner of Mentor.

The winners were:

  • for Ward 1, Cathy May-Krebs
  • for Ward 2, Michael and Beverly Albee
  • for Ward 3, Norman and Natalie Brobst
  • for Ward 4, Rich and Debbie Mills
  • for a business, the Marine Corps League's Gunny's Hall.

The winners thanked the committee and the City for the honor.

"I plant my garden to share God's artwork with the community," May-Krebs said.

After the awards were given, Brown announced that she would be retiring from the Beautification Committee due to famiy obligations.

"I want to thank the Council or allowing me to serve my community," she said. "It has been a pleasure to work with all those in the administration and on the Council."
