5 Ways Mentor Has Or Will Commemorate 9/11

Schools, churches, businesses, veterans groups and businesses have all found their own ways to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001

1. Mentor City Council has passed a resolution asking its constituents to participate in the .

At 1 p.m. Sunday, the bells of the churches in Mentor will ring and everyone is asked to take a moment to remember those who passed away on Sept. 11, 2001.

  • will commemorate the day with a special blended service at 10 a.m. Sunday.
  • will host a memorial service at 4 p.m. with Mentor Police Chief Daniel Llewellyn and Mentor Fire Chief Richard Harvey.
  • AMVETS Post 109 will host a candlelight vigil at 8 p.m. Sunday at their post at 7847 Lake Shore Blvd. followed by an honor rifle guard.
