The Mentor Public Library will kick off its first ever summer concert series tonight with the music of The Beatles.
Acoustic guitarist Rick Iacoboni will not just play The Beatles' music but he'll also offer little-known facts on how the songs were written and recorded.
The performance is free and will be on the Read House's lawn. (The Read House is next door the library's main branch on Mentor Avenue.)
Meanwhile, the library will have a soft opening of its Friends of the Library book sale located inside the Read House.
Furthermore, the library's four-concert series will continue throughout the summer with free rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, retro and island music performances.
Mentor Library Adult Information Services Manager Amanda Densmore said the concert series goes along with the library's goals "to stimulate the imagination of our patrons by providing programs and services for their reading, listening and viewing pleasure."
"We have had concerts here before but nothing like this," Densmore added.
All the concerts are family friendly and no registration is required.
For more information, call the library at 440-255-8811, ext. 215 or visit the MPL web site.
