Power lines should be under ground and newer neighborhoods do have them buried. I see the powerRead Moretru cks/crews out butchering trees daily to try and alleviate the problem. It has to cost millions to maintain above ground utilities. When Isabel struck Virginia several years back, I traveled from NC to VA and power lines/poles were downed for hundreds of miles and I wouldn't want to even guess the costs/losses. In my neighborhood, trucks over a certain height aren't allowed in because the lines are so low you could almost jump up and grab them. It just isn't one of those issues that people are passionate enough about to demand a solution and we know corporate executives wouldn't make a decision involving massive infrastructure costs that would affect profits on their watch . . .
