Working Dog Weekend Returns To Lake Metroparks Farmpark
From sled dogs to K-9s, meet hounds who work for their kibble
Meet some pups who punch in with all four paws at the Working Dog Weekend this Saturday and Sunday at Lake Metroparks Farmpark.
From the tiny terriers who hunt rodents to the enormous Newfoundlands who rescue stranded boaters, it's not surprising for dogs to enter the working world.
People can meet the many different types of dogs who earn their kibble this weekend.
Some of the highlights of the weekend include:
- exhibitions from the Buckeye Dockdogs throughout the day and trials from the SkyHoundz at noon both days. Watch these incredible dogs leap through the air to catch discs their partners have tossed.
- the Canine Freestyle Federation, which is comparable to a dance troupe for dogs. They will perform heel work to music 1:30 p.m. each day at the outdoor arena.
- a presentation from the Lake County K-9s. See what police dogs do in their daily line of work 2 p.m. at the FarmPark's arena.
- Partners with Paws, who will provide animal-assisted therapy demonstrations throughout the day.
There will also be demonstrations from sled dogs, Newfoundlands who specialize in water rescue and more.
