It was because of this contempt charge that Mentor Police initially arrested Weber on April 26.

She was brought to Mentor City Jail where she demonstrated some symptoms of a seizure. However, police are suspicious that these symptoms might have been feigned.

Police took Weber to Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. While there, Weber was left unattended for a minute while she was being checked out by hospital staff in the lobby, Mentor Police Capt. Ken Gunsch previously said.

During that time, Weber fled from the hospital and was on the lam for about 10 days.

That's when police received a tip that Weber was at a doctor's office in Painesville. She was receiving treatment for a foot injury.

Mentor Police Chief Daniel Llewellyn said Officer Martin Turek, the officer in charge of monitoring Weber at the hospital, was suspended for 72 hours without pay for his unsatisfactory performance and violating the department's code of conduct, according to The News-Herald.

Turek will also receive additional training, the chief said.
