A woman is accused of luring an ex-boyfriend to a motel parking lot so two other guys could rob him.
Lauren Polena, 19, of Concord Township, drove her ex-boyfriend to the Value Place parking lot early Saturday morning, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said.
Once there, two men – Patrick Horgan, 24, of Eastlake, and Darnell Gibson Jr., 24, of Mentor – approached the car and tried to take money from the ex-boyfriend's pockets, Powers said.
The ex-boyfriend, a 25-year-old from Chardon, escaped and ran into Value Place where he called police.
Polena, Horgan and Gibson fled before police arrived. But officers returned to Value Place later that morning and found the three of them in a room Gibson had rented, Powers said.
Police also arrested Dylan Mueller, 19, of Painesville as part of their investigation.
"He was the owner of the car that Polena used," Powers said. "He let her use his car, knowing what would occur."
Police found Mueller sitting in his car in the Value Place parking lot at the same time they arrested Polena, Horgan and Gibson, Power said.
Horgan and Gibson were charged with robbery. Mueller and Polena each face a count of complicity to robbery.
All of the suspects could face between two and eight years in prison if convicted.
The suspects were arraigned this morning by Judge John Trebets at Mentor Municipal Court. Trebets set all of their bonds at $150,000. None of the suspects could afford to post bond, so they remain in jail.
Their next court appearance is scheduled for March 14.

What's happening in Mentor? The town I grew up in is quickly becoming a hotbed for criminals.
