Wildwood Fine Arts Festival Returns This Sunday
Enjoy local artists' work while children have their very own art contest
For $2, art lovers can enjoy the handiwork of local artists and craftsmen. More than 50 sculptors and painters will display their work, much of which will be for sale.
Visitors can also enjoy live jazz music, refreshments and free guided tours of the Wildwood Manor House.
Kids can get their faces painted and compete in the children's art contest. The contest's theme will be "Summer in Mentor."
Sculptures are not permitted in the contest. However, any two-dimensional art from 8-by-10 inches to 16-by-20 inches will be allowed.
On the back of their artwork, children should list their name, their parents' names, their age, address, phone number, media and title of their work. Each child may submit only one work of art.
Children will compete in three age brackets: 6 and younger; 7 to 10; and 11 to 14.
Kids need to submit their artwork by noon the day of the festival. They should bring their submissions to the Creative Artists Association raffle booth.
Judging will take place at 2 p.m. Artists must be present to win and all art must be picked up by 4 p.m.
Prizes will be provided by the festival's sponsors: the city of Mentor, Community Arts Commission and Creative Artists Association.
