The students of Leadership Lake County's High School Program visited Mama Roberto's, Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and other local businesses Tuesday to learn about what it takes to be a successful entrepeneur.
The High School program gives juniors from 14 schools across the region, including Mentor High and Lake Catholic, a behind-the-scenes look at Lake County while helping them develop the skills they need to lead.
Students gather on the first Wednesday of every month to explore a different aspect of Lake County. This month, they learned about business and entrepeneurship.
In addition to learning about Lake County, these students participate in a service project that provides school supplies for students who need them.
Last year, students raised more than $11,000, Youth Program Coordinator Elizabeth Petro said.
High school sophomores can apply to be part of next year's program now. For more information, visit Leadership Lake County's web site.
