Unemployment Rates Drop Again in Mentor & Lake County
The city's unemployment rate dropped to 5.6 percent in April
The city of Mentor's unemployment rate dropped to 5.6 percent in April, according to civilian labor force estimates from the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.
That is down from 6 percent in March.
This gives Mentor the second lowest unemployment rate for any community in Ohio more than 50,000 people.
Mentor's unemployment rate had spiked as high as 7.1 percent in February after reaching the 3-year low of 5.3 percent in October and November 2011.
Meanwhile, in Lake County, the unemployment rate also decreased from 6.7 percent in March to 6.1 percent in April.
Fianlly, the unemployment rate in Ohio declined from 7.8 percent in March to 7.3 percent in April.
