Tell Us: What Store Do You Want To See In The Former Borders Building?

The bookstore has been closed for more than a year. What do you want to see take its place?

The Mentor Borders bookstore closed more than a year ago after its parent company filed for bankruptcy.

Since then, the 22,000-square-foot building has remained empty despite a good location as a cornerstone store in a major shopping plaza on Mentor Avenue.

We want to know — what would you like to see in the space? Another book store? Something completely different?

Tell us in the comments section below.

Whole Foods, Dave and Buster's anything we don't have in this area would be nice, especially with the gas prices, can't afford to buy or go out and pay for gas too

Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are popular suggestions on the Facebook page, as well. Dress Barn and Dick's Last Resort have also gotten some mentions.

Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or Sprouts (anything organic, sad to see Mentor lose it's organic store that was in a terrible location.)

I was told Trader Joes almost went into space now occupied by ALDI across from the mall. ALDI owns Traders Joes and for some reason they opted for ALDI instead of Trader Joes

i would love to have a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods on this side of town. I would much rather spend money in these types of stores, than spend money on gas getting to them in Cuyahoga County.

Whole Foods or Trade Joe's would be fantastic. ESPN Zone would be amazing as well. (Not sure how many ESPN Zone's are even left, but the one I visited was a sports fans dream come true)

Mentor Schools have wonderful music programs. How about a big box music store like Guitar Center or Sam Ash Music? Right now the closest big music stores are in Lyndhurst!

Micro Center. The one in Mayfield Hts. is fantastic. I do not think that they would be interested in opening a second store so close. I suggested the Boarders location to the store manager. But then I drove all the way to Mayfield Hts. Why would they need to open in Mentor?
