Support USA Wheelchair Basketball Team As They Pass Through Mentor
Team USA's wheelchair basketball team comes through Mentor today
The USA Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team is passing through Mentor today on their way to the 2012 London Paralympic Games, which is held Aug. 28 to Sept 9.
Team USA fans will gather to cheer them on as they make their way west on I-90.
You can show your support by arriving on the Center Street overpass in Mentor between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Bring your family and friends. The goal is to line the bridge with as many people as possible and for them to show their support by waving USA flags. Signs and posters are encouraged as well.
SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH, will also host a send-off event for the team at 9 a.m. today.
The send-off at SPIRE will follow the team’s final intrasquad scrimmage this morning, which is free and is open to the public
