Student Charged With Inducing Panic After Bomb Hoax

The 12-year-old girl was arrested Tuesday night

The student who is suspected of writing a threat on the wall at Memorial Middle School and causing the bomb scare Tuesday has been arrested and charged with inducing panic.

The 12-year-old girl can be disciplined by the school, as well.

Memorial Middle School was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a student found a bomb threat on a bathroom wall and reported to administrators.

Mentor Police, along with the bomb-sniffing canine, were called and assisted administrators in conducting a sweep of the school.

Students were kept at Garfield Elementary while Memorial was being searched.

The building was cleared at about 5:00 p.m. and determined safe for students to return to school.

All after-school events at Memorial were cancelled Tuesday.

The school would have been back open today were it not for the district-wide snow day.
