Snow Days, Hockey & Christmas: Weekly Planner

Check out all of the fun holiday events happening this week

 

1. COUGAR EXTRAVAGANZA HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

Where/When: Mentor Civic Ice Arena, Monday through Thursday

Why Go: More than varsity and JV hockey teams will compete in this annual tournament, which is hosted by Lake Catholic.

Pricing: Tournament Pass: $12
Lake Catholic Students: Free with ID
18 & Under: Free

JV General Admission: $3
Varsity General Admission: $5

2. SNOW SCULPTURES AT THE LIBRARY

Where/When: Read House, 1 p.m.. Dec. 29

Why Go: Children and their families will create their own zoo animal snow sculptures on the Read House lawn. Dress for the cold weather.

Pricing: The event is free but please register beforehand. You can do that on the library's web site.

3. CLEVELAND INDIANS SNOW DAYS

Where/When: 2401 Ontario St, Cleveland, 2 p.m., Dec. 25

Why Go: Enjoy The Batterhorn eight-lane snow tubing hill, the Frozen Mile ice skating track around the outfield, the Frozen Diamond ice skating rink on the infield and the Rookie Rink for beginning skaters.

There's arts and crafts, baseball and holiday-themed activities, video games, TVs playing movies and sporting events, and traditional ballpark food. Open through Jan. 16.

Pricing: $5

4. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS BASKETBALL CLINIC

Where/When: Mentor Heisley Racquet and Fitness Club, Tuesday through Thursday

Why Go: This clinic, which is for boys and girls in grades 3-8, is designed to improve the skill level of any youth basketball player.

Pricing: $95

5. ST. JOHN VIANNEY CHRISTMAS EVE MASS

Where/When: St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: Well, it is the reason for the season.

Pricing: Free
