School Holds 5K In Memory Of Rev. Robert Kline This Saturday

All Saints School of St. John Vianney is holding its inaugural Father Robert Kline 5K and 1-Mile Family Fun Run this Saturday at Veterans Park in Mentor.

Rev. Kline founded the school in 1977 so the parents at All Saints wanted to do something in his honor after he passed away last year.

"Father Kline was very dedicated, not only to our school, but to our parish," All Saints Principal Rose Wilson said. "He even taught at the parish until two months before he died. He was 87 years old and still teaching."

All the proceeds from the run will go to All Saints School.

"He was very well loved and we miss him and this felt like a good way to honor him," Wilson said of Kline and the race.

If someone would like to find out more about the race or walk, they can call the school at 440-943-1395.

At this point, anyone interested in participating must register the day of the event. Registration begins at 7 a.m. this Satuday.

The cost is $22 per race participant. The race begins at 8 a.m. For the walk, the cost is $10 per person or $25 per family. Children under the age of 5 are free. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m.

I found some pics of Fr. Kline that I uploaded to the site. Sorry I'll miss the event as my children are competing in an Irish dance event downtown.
