Russell Simmons Visiting Great Lakes Mall This Thursday

Hip-hop pioneer and fashion mogul will talk with fans, sign autographs at Kay Jewelers

Russell Simmons – the Def Jam co-founder and fashion mogul – is coming Thursday to Great Lakes Mall to promote his new line of jewelry.

He will be talking to fans and signing autographs from 5 to 7 p.m. at .

While at Kay Jewelers, Simmons will discuss the personal philosophies that led to his jewelry collection's design.

“Strength is a primary masculine trait and men can show their individual strength subtly, yet confidently, by adding the right touch of jewelry,” Simmons said. “Men can come across as confident, strong and masculine by wearing rugged materials like steel and rubber.”

Fans of Simmons' can also sign up between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to win a free stainless steel and diamond bracelet from the Simmons Jewelry Co. Simmons himself will draw the winner at 6:45 p.m.

The winner must be present to get the bracelet.

Also, the first 50 people to enter the sweepstakes will receive a complimentary mini dog tag pendant from the Simmons Jewelry Co. collection.

Simmons and jewelry expert Scott Rauch formed Simmons Jewelry Co. with a goal of bringing a youthful, cool sensibility to the world of fine jewelry, he said. The Simmons Jewelry Co. collection is priced from $150 to $850 and is available at Kay Jewelers stores and online at kay.com.
