Poll: How Would You Improve It's Better In Mentor?
Offer your opinion on how the annual festival can be upgraded
Mentor City Council and the administration discussed ways in which the annual It's Better In Mentor festival can be improved.
Some suggestions were already made by the city leaders, as well as our readers.
Those suggestions seem to focus on adding more local everything -- food, entertainment, businesses. After all, the best way to prove It's Better In Mentor is to show everyone what Mentor's got.
We want to include as many people in this conversation as possible. So tell us, what do you want to see at It's Better In Mentor?
Do you want a complete overhaul? Do you think it's great the way it is? Or are you somewhere in the middle?

I have not visited the festival in a long time. Sometimes I'm just "festivaled" out by then.

TRUE that it comes a little late in the festival season. Maybe in the future it could be a few weeks earlier?

If we're going to call it "It's Better in Mentor" (which is kinda snooty at first take) then we really ought to showcase what makes it "better". Lake Erie? Food? Schools? Businesses? Parks? What were we rated on to make it in the top places to live?
For those that have been working on the festival, we do enjoy it and appreciate your efforts very much.

How about making a day when all the middle school and highschool kids can't be there so adults can enjoy there time and have fun. Cause every year there's fights and tons of obnoxious kids yelling and stuff. Makes people not want to come and deal with it. As kelly orlando said we need things showcased at the festival to show what makes the city great like restaurants new business ideas schools parks.

Spotlight on local businesses that are keeping Mentor employed. Maybe combine themes like job fair/skills, wineries, fine arts and locally owned restaurants. Maybe it's not just "Better in Mentor" maybe it's better in Lake County! We really do have a lot to offer everyone.

Don't destroy the lawn with all that heavy equipment. Another solution needs to be made because it makes it hard for sports and practice to happen with a ruined lawn.
