Poll: How Much Will You Spend on Valentine's Day?

Experts say the average consumer will dish out $126 on Tuesday.

Americans are projected to spend $17.6 billion on Valentine’s Day this year, so push those half-written love letters aside, grab the checkbook and get ready to pony up some dough.

According to a survey from the National Retail Federation, the average consumer will spend $126 to ensure Cupid’s arrow hits its mark.

The estimate, which is about an 8.5 percent increase from last year’s spending, certainly puts those claims to rest about how one can’t put a price on love.

So what’s it going to be: a bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates and a bestseller from the bookstore? What about dinner for two, jewelry, perfume or expensive silk pajamas?

Maybe it’s none of the above. Let’s put it to a vote.

After you complete the poll, please offer your gift ideas and date plans in the comments section below to help out all those star-crossed lovers.
