Police: Sex Offender Caught Peering In Children's Apartment Window

A Painesville man is accused of peeking into the bedroom of two children

Mentor Police arrested a man who is accused of peeking into the bedroom of two children, according to the Mentor Police Department Facebook page.

Mentor detectives noticed Erik Wisch, 31, of Painesville, peering into an apartment window at Heatherstone Condos Monday evening.

He got into his car but police pulled him over. He was sweaty and his zipper was down, police said.

The window he was looking into belonged to two children under the age of five.

Wisch was charged with attempted voyeurism, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless operation of a vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt.

These charges are misdemeanors and Wisch posted bond after his arraignment Tuesday.

Wisch was convicted through Painesville Municipal court in 2010 for committing a sex act while peering into a child's bedroom and is a registered Tier 1 sex offender.

I guess being convicted through Painesville Muni Court and registering as a 'Tier 1 sex Offender' didn't really do anything to rehabilitate him. So now what, how about some REAL prison time!?!? This will continue until something terrible happens. Maybe a molestation or an abduction or something even worse! What is is going to take to make our judicial system buckle down on hard on these perverts against our children?

This piece of human garbage needs to be incarcerated before he does it again.

Is he out of prison on 12/19 or still incarcerated? Our neighbor startled a man in a dark trench coat peering into a house on Lakeview Drive at 12:30 pm (day time!) today and alerted the police. Residents need to be alerted and aware on this street in Mentor.
