Photo Gallery: Orchard Hollow Students Walk To School
More than 200 Mentor students participated in International Walk To School Day this morning
Because the Orchard Hollow mascot is a husky, many of the students clutched stuffed dogs during their walk. A few even had real dogs accompany them.
Principal Karen Trunk said the school has also included the event in its PAWS Against Bullying program.
Walk to School Day began in the United Kingdom and crossed the pond in 1997. Mentor's Recreation Department has organized walks for the last two years.
The event encourages healthy habits and safe, walkable neighborhoods.
