Where/When: Lake & Geauga Area Association of Realtors, 3 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: Remember A Prom To Remember, the prom for children whose lives have been affected by cancer?
You can help support that special event by going to this holiday shopping opportunity. Local vendors will be donating a portion of their proceeds to A Prom To Remember.
There will also be raffles, door prizes, food and fun.
If you are unable to attend the “Mix & Mingle” fundraiser, but would still like to support this organization, donations can be made by visiting here or by mailing a check, payable to “A Prom to Remember”, to: 8827 Mentor Avenue, Suite B, Mentor, Ohio 44060.
Pricing: Free to get in but you will probably want to spend some money when you arrive.
Where/When: Lake Catholic High School, 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday) through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday
Why Go: The Lake Catholic theater department will present its fall show this (and only this) weekend.
Don't miss this show. It's funnier than any tale of murder, mayhem and family has a right to be.
Pricing: $10 for adults, $5 for students
3. CARDINAL CRAFT SHOW
Where/When: Mentor High School, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: Another great opportunity to get some holiday shopping done!
Cardinal Parents' Club will be offering all of your favorite crafts, food and MHS Spirit wear. All ticket sales go towards Mentor Highs's athletic "Pay to Participate" fund.
Pricing: $3 for adults, $2 for students and seniors
4. CANCER FUNDRAISERS
Where/When: Metro Home Furniture, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday & Prince of Peace Church, 7193 Reynolds Rd, 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday
Why Go: There are a pair of cancer-related fundraisers happening in Mentor this Saturday.
Though very different, both are worth your notice.
The first is a spaghetti dinner from 2 to 7 p.m. at Prince of Peace Church.
The proceeds from the dinner will help Ashley Hollander, a 31-year-old woman with esophageal cancer and no insurance.
A ticket only costs $10.
Meanwhile, Metro Home Furniture is participating in the Tempur-Pedic Hugs Back campaign.
That means anyone, for everyone who tests a Tempur-Pedic mattress this Saturday, Tempur-Pedic will donate $10 to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
To be clear, you don't have to buy the mattress, just try it.
Pricing: $10 for the Ashley Hollander benefit.
5. MENTOR TOP 25 FREE CONCERT
Where/When: Hope Ridge United Methodist Church, 4 p.m. Sunday
Why Go: Enjoy a free concert with the Mentor High School Top 25 Show Choir as they "Kick Off the Holidays."
The concert will be held at Hope Ridge United Methodist Church across from Concord Plaza. Refreshments will beavailable and a bake sale will be held.
Donations will be accepted for the group to use toward their June 2013 Perfomance Tour.
