Meth Labs, Planned Parenthood & The Cleveland Aquarium: A Week In Review
From deer culling to local sports stars, it was a big-news week in Mentor
1. After what feels like almost a year of discussion, the city of Mentor has outlined a possible plan for deer culling.
Please allow me to stress, nothing is final. Nothing is engraved in stone at this point. In fact, Mentor City Council will discuss the issue more at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.
That having been said, it's nice to have a clearer picture of what our options are.
2. Mentor Police and the Lake County Narcotics Agency raided a suspected meth lab in the city.
James Sample is suspected of using the ol' shake-and-bake method to make methamphetamine.
3. Five great Mentor High athletes signed their letters of intent for their respective colleges this week.
I have trouble picturing a Cardinals defense without Tom Strobel, Kurt Laseak and Jack Hanley. But, as Mentor Football Coach Steve Trivisonno pointed out, this happens every year.
4. Perhaps, you've already heard that the Susan G. Komen Foundation ceased giving money to Planned Parenthood. Then, they changed their minds.
A lot of Patch readers have offered their opinion on the decision. What do you think?
5. Have you had a chance to check out the Greater Cleveland Aquarium yet?
