Mentor School Board Recognizes Cross Country Runner Kinsey Robinson

Robinson ran the third fastest 5K in Mentor High School's history

The Mentor Schools Board of Education and administration recognized freshman cross country runner Kinsey Robinson during its meeting Tuesday at the CARES facility.

Robinson ran five kilometers in 18:57 at the state championship, finishing 31st overall and first in the area. Moreover, she was the third fastest freshman at the meet.

During the cross country season, she racked up accomplishments that would be impressive for any student but are incredible for a freshman. She:

  • ran the fastest 5K for a Mentor High student since 1984 and the third fastest in the school's history.
  • only missed the school record by four seconds
  • was first place at the district meet and set a new course record
  • was the runner up at the district meet; sixth at regionals
  • made the All Northeast Ohio Conference and Regional Teams
  • was the News-Herald Runner of the Week.
