Mentor Police Looking For Man Who Robbed Shell Gas Station
Suspect may be same man who robbed gas station in Willoughby the same day
Mentor Police are looking for a man who robbed a Shell gas station at gunpoint Sunday morning.
At 4:07 a.m., a man came into the station at 7408 Mentor Ave. He had a black handgun and he demanded money from the clerk, Mentor Police Lt. Ken Zbiegien said.
The clerk gave him money from the register, as well as Newport cigarettes and Black & Mild cigars, and the suspect ran away on foot.
The victim described the robber as a black man, wearing a black baseball cap, a black bandanna across his face, a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
He was about five feet, 11 inches in height with a thin build.
Almost immediately after the Mentor robbery, a Shell gas station in Willoughby was robbed.
Zbiegien said the two robberies could be connected.
"There is a possibility it is the same suspect," he said.
Anyone with information regarding the Mentor robbery is encouraged to call the Mentor Detective Bureau at 440-974-5763.
Mentor Police have posted more photos of the robber on their Facebook page.

Rehabilitation is the answer, criminals can be reformed but most people see punishment and increasing the scope of the drug war as the answer despite its obvious failure.
