Mentor-on-the-Lake Man Convicted Of Distributing Child Pornography

Kevin A. Davis, who is already a convicted sex offender, will be sentenced March 22

A Mentor-on-the-Lake man, who is already registered as a sexual predator, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography and another charge of distributing it on the Internet.

Kevin A. Davis, 47, will be sentenced by Federal Judge Christopher Boyko on March 22.

Davis was arrested in May when agents from the Postal Inspector's Office, with the help of the Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Department, raided his home and confiscated a laptop computer, DVDs and several color photos of nearly nude prepubescent boys.

Davis has been registered as a sexual offender since 2002 when he pleaded guilty to attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor in Lake County Court of Common Pleas.

On Jan. 27, 2002, officers from the Mentor-on-the-Lake Police Department were called to Davis' home for a domestic disturbance.

While investigating a physical altercation between Davis and a family member, the officers discovered several photographs of nude boys on the floors and walls of Davis' room, according to the Lake County Prosecutor's Office.

There were also pornographic images of young boys on his computer, as well as homemade videotapes of adolescent boys and children performing various sex acts, prosecutors said.

Davis has also been convicted of drug charges and domestic violence. Before his arrest last year, he most recently went to prison in 2005 when he was convicted on a felony count of domestic violence.

Certainly not someone I'd like living in my neighborhood. A repeat criminal with a variety of crimes. Lock him up.

Judge Boyko, please make sure this piece of trash gets the maximum sentence. He should have lost his right to be a part of society the first time he was charged as a sex offender. History shows us that these 'people' cannot be rehabilitated. Put him away and keep our children safe please!

it would be beneficial to try to find out what makes people exhibit this kind of behavior so it could be stopped in future generations. we already know they repeat, but why why why? i feel very sorry for the victims

Anne, unfortunately it is their sexual orientation. This is what 'turns them on'. That's why they don't take to rehabilitation. I think the courts know that they will re-offend, but there just isn't enough room in our prisons to contain them. It's no coincidence that whenever we hear about these sickos on the news, they almost always have a previous record. And their crimes always escalate as well, as it takes more extreme acts for them to get their jollies. The legal system needs to find a way to stop this from occurring.

people who only download child pornography are not dangerous predators. If you think they are, then you must also think that anyone who smokes marijuana will turn into a heroin addict.
