Mentor Man Accused Of Smashing Beer Bottle On Another Man's Face
The victim needed five stitches above his left eye, according to police
A Mentor man is accused of hitting another man in the face with a bottle on Saturday afternoon.
Mentor Police were called to the America's Best Value Inn where the victim said the fight happened, Lt. Dan Molnar said.
The man said that John Collins hit him with a beer bottle.
"They were both staying there and there was an argument over money," Molnar said.
Paramedics took the man to the hospital where he needed five stitches above his left eye, Molnar said.
Collins then turned himself in, saying he wanted to tell his side of the story.
Collins, 36, claimed that the other man fell on his own and hit himself in the face.
Police arrested Collins and charged him with felonious assault. He was arraigned Tuesday in Mentor Municipal Court.
Judge John Trebets set his bond at 100,000, which was not posted.
Collins' next court date is set for Sept. 10

Can't the city do something with all these fine hotel establishments that we seem to have in Mentor?
It is horrible the events that are in the news every week at one hotel or another. Drugs, child endangering, prostitution, robbery, fights, and lord knows what else.
Please put some extra patrols out there,
