Mentor High Grad & Akron Zips QB Chris Jacquemain Dies
Jacquemain died in his Mentor home Wednesday afternoon
Chris Jacquemain, a former quarterback for the Mentor Cardinals and Akron Zips, died Wednesday afternoon, Lake County Coroner Dr. Lynn Smith said.
Paramedics were called to Jacquemain's home on Meadowbrook Lane at 3:06 p.m., Mentor Fire Lt. Ron Zak said. He was already dead when paramedics arrived.
The cause of Jacquemain's death is undetermined, Smith said. However, the coroner added that his death will likely be ruled accidental, as opposed to homicide or suicide.
Smith said it will likely take a few weeks before the cause of death can be ascertained for certain.
Friends have already begun posting goodbye messages to Jacquemain on his Facebook page.
Jacquemain, 25, graduated from Mentor High School in 2005.
He was a 3-year starter at Akron. However, his college career was cut short when he was suspended and then cut from the team in 2009.
Akron never specified why he was cut, only saying that he had violated the team's wellness policies. Initially he had remained at the school on a scholarship and studied sport management.

Any followup to this story? I've heard a few rumors about the circumstances surrounding his death, but was curious if anything "official" had been released.

I know a family member and it was drugs that killed him. So sad, i wish kids would realize what can happen.
