Memorial Middle School Student Receiving Treatment for Possible MRSA Infection
The student has a suspected, but not confirmed, case of MRSA; nevertheless, the school was still disinfected to prevent the disease's potential spread
A Memorial Middle School student may have an MRSA staph infection, according to the school district's website.
The student has a suspected case of MRSA, but the diagnosis has not been confirmed, according to Mentor Schools.
Nevertheless, the school disinfected every class room on the student's schedule, the bus he or she rides in and common areas like cafeterias and restrooms as a health precaution.
Mentor Schools spokeswoman Kristen Kirby said the student is doing fine. No additional information on the student – including his or her grade and age – was released.
This could be the second case of MRSA at Mentor Schools this calendar year if the diagnosis is confirmed.
In January, a high school student contracted MRSA. She has since received treatment, returned to the student population and is doing fine, Kirby previously said.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, is an antibiotic-resistant form of staph that spreads from skin-to-skin contact or direct contact with somewhere the bacteria lives. This can include towels, razors and clothing.
For more information on MRSA, visit the Lake County General Health District web site or U.S. Centers for Disease Control.

For years wrestlers and fighters have been using a 100% natural soap with active ingredients that have been clinically proven to be effective against Ringworm, Herpes, Impetigo, Staph, MRSA, Jock Itch and Athlete's Foot. It is called Defense Soap. Im sure Defense Soap would help these students.
