The city of Mentor will celebrate Christmas in July at 1 p.m. today at Eleanor B. Garfield Park pool.

There will be prizes, games and festively dressed lifeguards -- just like the regular Christmas (depending on what your Christmas is like.)

Santa is also scheduled to make an appearance. Try to grab some of the candy and T-shirts he and his elves will throw to the crowd from atop the pool house.

Santa also made a surprise appearance. He threw the kids candy and T-shirts from the roof of the pool house.

All of the fun and festivities are free with a regular priced pool admission.

Check out these photos from last year's Christmas In July to get a taste of that winter-by-way-of-summertime wonder.
