People partied and camped out all night Saturday and half of Sunday at Lake High School for the annual Relay for Life of Central Lake County.

The event featured teams that took turns walking around the school track and raising funds for the American Cancer Society that will support cancer research and treatment. Auctions were held to raise more money and people were entertained by bands and activities like volleyball and hula hoop contests. Events were also held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Teams had raised $83,000 before the event, American Cancer Society income development representative Amanda Uterhark said. By the end of the event on Sunday, officials hoped to raise $106,000.

Last year, the event raised more than $100,000.

Do you know if any photos were taken of the luminaries? I purchased several and wasn't able to be there. I would love to see them. This is such an amazing event.

I'm afraid I don't have any photos of the luminaries. However, if I find any, I'll make sure to let you know.
