Former Best Buy Employee Admits To Stealing From Employer
Deric Estes Jr. pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of theft Thursday in Mentor Municipal Court
A seasonal Best Buy employee admitted to stealing from his former job.
Deric Estes Jr., 20, of Euclid, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of theft Thursday in Mentor Municipal Court.
Acting Judge Jeff McGaffick did not sentence Estes Thursday. Instead, he asked the court's probation department to compile a presentence report on him.
His sentencing hearing will be scheduled later.
Estes worked at the electronics retailer in December. During that month, he took $2,435 worth of iPods, video games and other equipment, police said.
The store noticed the missing equipment, investigated it and identified Estes as the culprit, according to police.
