Duo Face Heroin Trafficking Charges

Dominique Ivory and Heaven Wright were arrested on warrants by Mentor Police Tuesday

Mentor Police arrested two people Tuesday night on warrants for charges related to heroin trafficking.

An officer spotted a rental car driving over marked lanes so he pulled it over, Mentor Police Lt. Tim Allen said.

The driver -- Dominique Ivory, 24, of Concord Township -- had a suspended license. Furthermore, he had a pair of warrants issued for his arrest.

Mentor Police had charged Ivory with selling heroin from an incident that happened Oct. 15, Allen said. Additionally, the Lake County Sheriff's Office had issued a warrant for him, stemming from a traffic offense, Allen said.

Ivory's passenger -- Heaven Wright, 21, of Concord Township -- also had a warrant issued for her arrest. She has been charged with complicity to heroin trafficking.

On Oct. 15, Mentor officers saw Ivory selling heroin in parking lot on Reynolds Road near the Route 2 entryway, Mentor Police Lt. Tom Powers said.

Wright was Ivory's driver at the time, Powers added.

Ivory and Wright are scheduled to be arraigned today in Mentor Municipal Court.

In addition to a charge of heroin trafficking, Ivory is accused of driving with a suspended license, crossing marked lanes and not wearing a seat belt.

More heroin being sold in Mentor. There's a real big problem here. Why don't these traffickers get more serious jail time? I bet they'd choose some place else to go to sell it then! Judges MUST get stricter with these criminals!

Hopefully this is the dealer that supplies my niece. Maybe she can get clean now. They need to close Motel 6 on Rt. 306!
