Check out all the awesome events happening in and around Mentor in this week's superstuffed planner
Where/When: Mentor High School, 9 a.m. Saturday
Why Go: Scott Panchik -- a health and physical education teacher at Mentor High -- is competing in the national CrossFit championship this July in Carson, CA.
(He is ranked 15th among 45 finalists who were culled from more than 50,000 competitors.)
To help raise money for Panchik's trip, the Mentor Redline Club is holding a competition in which people will compete in many of the same events that Panchik has mastered.
The workout competition will include the 400 m dash, box jumps, thrusters, jumping rope, abmat sit ups, overhead lunges and more.
Prizes will be awarded to the first place team in each of three divisions -- ninth and tenth graders, juniors and seniors, and high school graduates.
It costs $50 for a team of four to sign up for the event. (Make checks payable to the Mentor Redline Club.)
For more information, send email to Spanchik22@gmail.com.
Pricing: $50 per team
