Couple Accused Of Stealing Watches From Kohl's

He is accused of stealing her a watch on her 23rd birthday

A security guard spotted a man and woman taking watches from the Kohl's department store Monday afternoon, according to the Mentor Police Facebook page.

When the guard tried to stop them, they ran away.

However, police officers were called to the area and they found Robert Kreischer and Noel Cocchi in the Arby's drive-thru across the street.

Kreischer, 26, was charged with petty theft; Cocchi, 23, with receiving stolen property.

Cocchi, who lives in Painesville, was arrested on her 23rd birthday. She was previously convicted of aggravated theft in 2011 in Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas.

Both suspects pleaded not guilty during their hearing Tuesday in Mentor Municipal Court. Their next hearing is scheduled for Monday.

Kreischer's current address is in Lakewood but he used to live in Lake County.

He has five convictions of theft in Lake County alone. He was most recently convicted in 2011 in Mentor Municipal Court. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and another 150 days for violating his probation.

He was also convicted in 2007 in Mentor Municipal Court, 2006 and 2009 in Willoughby Municipal Court and 2010 in Painesville Municipal Court.

Maybe THIS time these repeat offenders will actually do some real jail time! What is going on with all of the robberies in Lake County? It's become very scary! And why are our Judges NOT sentencing these low lifes to longer jail sentances - to make a statement that you DON'T come to Lake County to rob anyone or anywhere?

Hi CCR. I appreciate your comment. Please allow me to split hairs.

These two suspects are accused of theft, which is different from robbery. A robbery involves force (or the threat of force.) If someone steals from you using a gun, that's a robbery and a felony for which the suspect could face between 2 to 8 years in prison. The longest sentence someone faces for a misdemeanor theft is 6 months in jail.

They obviously don't care about a future. Everything is in the system. If you don't pay a parking ticket in Portland, ME it will show up two years later in Portland, OR. They may as well have committed robbery since they have ruined their lives with idiotic repeat offences.

And she has aggravated theft on her rap sheet. What's the difference? If you were reading a job applicant's background check and it says 'aggravated' you'd think robber!

Definition of a predator = One that victimizes, plunders, or destroys, especially for one's own gain.
Definition of a vulture = A person of a rapacious, predatory, or profiteering nature.
Sounds like have 2 animals that need to go in a cage.
