Broadmoor School Hosts U R Beautiful Pageant
Girl scouts from Shore Middle School organized a beauty pageant for Broadmoor students this morning
The students of Broadmoor School held the inaugural U R Beautiful Pageant this morning.
Molly Moyer, an eighth-grader at Shore Middle School, proposed the beauty pageant. Moyer said pageants helped her overcome her shyness and she wanted the female students of Broadmoor to have an event where they could express themselves and have fun.
About 20 students between the ages of 15 and 22 in Broadmoor's Life Employment Experience Program donned dresses for the pageant. Volunteers from Moyer's Girl Scout troop helped with hair and makeup.
All the girls who competed got a flower and a sash that said, "U R Beautiful Queen."

What a fabulous idea! I truly hope that the Girl Scouts realize how important their efforts have been. Starfish principle: If it made a difference for just one student, it was well worth it.
