Malls Seek Nonprofit Partners for Giftwrap Program

Cleveland, Ohio (June 26, 2012) –Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Summit Mall in Fairlawn and Richmond Town Square in Richmond Heights are looking for nonprofit partners to participate in their charity giftwrap programs this holiday season.

Each year, area nonprofits recruit volunteers to wrap holiday gifts at the mall. Proceeds from the service are shared between the organization and the Simon Youth Foundation, whose mission is to provide educational opportunities for students who are at risk of dropping out of high school.  The giftwrap centers at each location are open throughout the holiday season.

Our charity giftwrap program is a great way for local nonprofit organizations to raise funds and awareness for their cause, and spread some holiday cheer,” said Kate Anderson, area director of marketing and business development, Simon Property Group.

“In 2011, some nonprofits who participated in the giftwrap program at Great Lakes Mall earned more than $2,000 for their efforts,” said Renee Lanzara, director of marketing and business development, Great Lakes Mall. “The program is a great fundraiser and a lot of fun for participants.”

It’s recommended that nonprofits schedule between three to six volunteers for each shift. Specific dates and time schedules can be coordinated with the respective property.
